Hello wonderful parents and guardians, We’ve had an exciting week diving into facts vs. opinions , and guess what? Your amazing kids are crushing it ! They've picked up the concept so quickly that we’re actually ahead of schedule in our Journeys lessons—how awesome is that? Since we’ve got a little extra time, we’re adding a fun twist to Friday’s homework. This week, your child will be writing about their springtime dreams! 🌸 Whether it’s adventures they’d love to go on, places they want to visit, or just how spring makes them feel—it’s all about sharing their thoughts and opinions in a creative and thoughtful way. Also, for those interested in a little extra wordy fun 🐝, there’s an opportunity to join a Spelling Bee outside of school! Feel free to check out the flyers attached for all the buzz-worthy details. You’ll find printouts for Lesson 24 and the Spelling Bee flyers below. Thanks for your continued support! Warmly, Mr. Jose 203A 201B

Midterm Exam Test Scope

Image
Here's what you should remind your child about for the exam: 1) Write neatly. If I can't read their writing or understand what it is, they'll lose points. 2) Read and follow all the instructions carefully. Points will be taken off if they don't follow the directions. 3) Read all the questions carefully and check their answers. Remember to use capital letters and punctuation marks when needed. 4) Make sure they come to school with sharp pencils and an eraser. 5) Encourage them to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and be on time for school on the exam day. 6) Tell them to do their best! If they don't do well this time, they can work harder and study more for the next exam. Wishing them good luck with their studying! Below is the Test Scope for Midterm. Mr. Jose 203A 201B

Week of 2/17-2/21 and Lesson 18 Printout

Dear Parents and Guardians, We had an incredible week! In addition to our regular lessons, we did something special—our first paragraph writing activity since the first semester. The kids were thrilled to practice their writing skills again! Our topic, "My Pot of Gold," sparked their creativity, and they filled their stories with treasures, imagining endless amounts of gold—even a quadrillion! What made this activity truly special was their thoughtfulness—not only did they dream big, but they also considered their families and others in their writing. We are so proud of their efforts and can’t wait for more exciting writing adventures ahead! Below is the printout for Lesson 18. 203A 201B
